A Soviet Rosie?

I grew up seeing images of Rosie the Riveter everywhere. She was an emblem of female strength and was attractive. I understood later that our country needed women to work during World War II and that Rosie was an image that represented strong women contributing labor for the USA. I knew Rosie was a piece of propaganda for that time, but she continued to appeal to me.
What is a woman's strength, I wondered. Why did they need to promote women working? Why did Rosie look like that? I wanted to know the story of Rosie the Riveter.
A few years ago, I was in a bookstore in Moscow and found this postcard:
This Soviet woman reminded me of Rosie. What was her story?  Is this image linked in some way to Rosie the Riveter? Is this image the Soviet version of Rosie?
